Fire Text

In this tutorial, you will learn fire text effect. Final output of this tutorial can be seen below :-







1. Open a new document in Photoshop.
2. Fill the background to black and type 'FIRE' with 'Horizontal Type Mask' Tool






3. Create a new layer and fill the selection with #FFFF00. Press Control+H to hide the selection.



4. Create another layer and fill the selection with #FF0700.



5. Now go to filter>render>clouds. Your text will look like this :-



6. Press control+l to open levels and type these values



7. Your text will look like this :-



8. Change this layer's blending mode to multiply :-



9. Use eraser to erase the lower part of the image as shown :-



10. You can now press control+d to deselect the selection which we hide. Press control+e to merge these two layers. We will add smoke to give it more realistic look. For that, press control and click on its layer's name in layer pallate to select it. Go to Select>modify>Contract and contract the selection by 3 pixels. Press control+I to inverse the selection. Press shift+alt+control keys together and click on its layer's name to have a border like selection.



11. Create a new layer and fill this border selection with black & white linear gradient. Deselect the selection now.



12. Select the smudge tool. Set the strength to 50% and mode to Normal. Select high feathered brush. Now, click and drag on this layer to give it a smoke look. Our text is ready.
